Hello Shari,
I am interested in the Clarence Barnes Book that you ahve mentioned in your response. I have found some similarities to our family and would like to have your input.
My grandfather had an Uncle BARNEY BOOK. Here is our family (please not there are more siblings, but I do not have access to the papers right now):
ENGELBERT BOOK b.1/24/1839 d.2/7/1916 m. to
ANNA THEKLA TOBIN b.8/6/1850 d. 5/9/1933.
ANNA MARIE BOOK b.4/10/1882 m. 11/24/1903 to
SAMUEL E. GUTZMANN b.11/20/1885
BARNEY BOOK (nickname only known) m. to ETTA .
The name ETTA came from my g-aunt, we have found many typos in this old research document. I am wondering if the Clarence Barnes you wrote about is the son of UNCLE BARNEY BOOK and his wife ETTA (ELLA?). Engelbert Book was a dairyman in St. Louis, MO. in 1890 and in the 1870 St. Louis census he lists his place of birth as Hanover.
Please let me know if anything sounds right to you. Thank you for your time!
