Michael Book was born about 1776 and died 6 February 1855. He is mentioned in his father's will as the youngest son, who when he reached 16, was to receive his inheritance. He came, with his brother George, from Washington County to Lawrence County in 1793, bought a 400 acre tract, and built a log cabin. He was one of the earliest settlers of North Beaver Township. He was a member of Tent U. P. Church in Mahoning Township, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania and he and his wife are buried there. He appears on the census of 1800 in Mercer County, Pennsylvania. His will is on file in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania Will Book #1, page 182. It was written 17 October 1853 and proven on 9 February 1855. Nathaniel Moore was a witness.
He is listed in every census of Mahoning Township, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania from 1800 to 1850.

He may be the Michael Boak, singleman, who appears on the Shenango Township, Beaver (now Lawrence) Co, Pa tax lists of 1815.

Mahoning Township: Michael Book came in 1793 with his brother George who never married. He ownsed 400 acres. He married just before leaving Washington Co, Pennsylvania.

Info on Jacob Book m. Martha McComb:
He lived at Ripple Place. He inherited 209 acres from his father's old farm, bought 80 acres from his brother, and 60 acres from Mr. Robert's farm. This land was eventually passed on to Alva F. Book. Jacob became quite prosperous due to limestone deposits which were found on his farm, his orchard, and his stock and grain farm, which was located on the Youngstown Road. He was of "sound judgement and good understanding". He served in the Civil War.
