Emily Alice Garbutt was a daughter of John Henry Garbutt and Rachel Louisa Everitt. They lived one mile east of Beamsville, Ontario, Canada. Emily A. Book recorded much of the data on the Canadian branches of the Book families that is contained in the book: " Family Records Collected by Herbert V. Book, Pulished in 1963". JOHN BOOK b. Oct 22, 1809 in Grimsby, Ontario, d. Apr 21, 1862 in Grimsby, Ontario. He married SOPHIA TERRYBERRY, b. Jan 3, 1817, d. Nov 7, 1861. SOPHIA was the daughter of MORRIS TERRYBERRY. They are both buried at ST. Andrews Churchyard, Grimsby, Ontario, Canada.

MAHLON JASPER BOOK b. Sept 11, 1853 in North Grimsby, Lincoln County, Ontario, Canada, d. Sept. 26, 1930. He married MARGERY ANN HUFF, b. Jan 2, 1854, d. July 26, 1915. MARGERY was the daughter of JOHN ALBERT HUFF and BARBARY ANN DEAN. Both MAHLON and MARGERY are buried at Mt. Osborne Cemetery, at Beamsville, Ontario, Canada.
The eldest of MAHLON and MARGERY's 5 children was
LESLIE DELOID BOOK, b. Dec 26, 1875 d. Dec 11, 1945. He married EMILY ALICE GARBUTT b. Nov 30, 1881 d. Mar 15, 1957. They were married Oct. 9, 1901, and had 5 children. They are both buried at Mt. Osborne Cemetery at Beamsville, Ontario, Canada.
