James Sidney Book was married to Olive Florence Owens, She was the daughter of Robert Lewis Owens and Lizzie Ann Squibb. There were 7 children in the family.

I extracted the Book/Bock from the German records. John Casper Bock and Mary Maag from the records for Schoenholthausen, Germany where they were married and lived. Seems John came to America leaving his family in Germany but must have gone back and brought his family to America. There were three children born in Germany, Marie Elizabeth, born 9 Jan 1837; Franz Joseph born 25 Feb 1938; Johann Franz born 23 Nov 1939. I found the family in a book in our library listing Germans to America. They are listed coming over on the PROBUS from Antwerp to New York arriving on 9 April 1953. Listed are John, Mary, Elisab, Franz and Johann. Does anyone know what happened to Marie Elizabeth. She is not listed on the 1860 census record, She was age 16 when they came to America. Had she gotten married or had she died?

The name in Germany is spelled Bock.
