John Boop was born near Harlem Springs and died at his residence in Cleveland on October 4, 1929. He spent most of his youth and early manhood in Carroll County, and in the early nineties went to Cleveland, where he resided until the time of his death. In 1896 Mr. Boop was united in marriage to Miss Mary Carter. He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. G. B. Harper, one granddaughter, Mary Ruth Harper, two brothers, Jacob A. and Benjamin F., and one sister, Mrs. William S. Talbott, all of Cleveland. His life was an exemplary one and he had a host of friends both in Carroll County and in Cleveland.
Funeral services were held at the residence, 480 East 109 street at 3:00 p.m., October 7, and were attended by a large concourse of relatives and friends. The services were conducted by Rev. Eglin, pastor of Wade Park Church and interment was made at Lake View Cemetery, Cleveland.
