THE CITY IN BRIEF (CON'T).
MR. and MRS. ALFRED WILSON and daughter, ALPHE, and FRANK WILSON of Arkansas City, Kas., who came here to attend the funeral of CHARLES WILSON, returned home yesterday.
MRS. DICK DOUGLASS and children of Peoria, Ill., arrived in Chariton Tuesday afternoon and will make this place their home. She is a daughter-in-law of NOBLE DOUGLASS.
MRS. J.E. PLYMATE and daughter visited relatives in Russell yesterday. Tomorrow the family leaves for Elkhart where they expect to reside. The best wishes of a host of Chariton friends will go with them to their new home.
JULIA, ALBERT and LEMUEL DE WITT, children of the late FRANCES DE WITT, who have been making their home in Whitebreast Township the past year with their uncle, JOHN DE WITT, left Tuesday evening for Maysville, Ill., where they will reside with their mother, MRS. LIZZIE SHARP.
The condition of A.H. MCCOLLOUGH is reported as greatly improved.
LLOYD PENICK and F.R. CROCKER transacted business in chicago a few days this week.
CUSTER's Novelty Store has been moved to the Law building on the east side of the square.
C.P. CONNELL, who has conducted a barber shop in Chariton for several years, has sold the same to BEN CUNNINGHAM who has taken possession, and whom we trust will meet with success.
MRS. MCCAULEY and daughter-in-law, MRS. FRANK MCCAULEY, of Osceola visited in Chariton last Saturday with MRS. LEVI FLUKE.
MRS. BERT PETERSON returned last evening from a three weeks' visit in Ottumwa.
O.G. BOOR of Leroy visited in Chariton a few days this week with the family of REV. M.S. CLARK.
