Aaron Booth 1849 Nottingham, England
I am looking for any information on my gggrandfather Aaron Booth & his family. He was born in 1849 in Selston, Nottingham. He was a miner and I believe was married 3 times.
1. Name of wife unknown, children: Adelaide & Charles.
2. Wife: Emily A. Robinson, children: Mary A, Aaron, Arthur.
3. Wife: Emma Chalkley, child: Anna Jane.
In the 1881 Census he was living with Emily in South Normanton, Mansfield in a B. Winning House.
In the 1891 Census he is living in Blackwell with Emma.
Emma came from the Luton area in London.
Adelaide married a James Bernard Simpson and went to live in Philadelphia where they had a daughter, Gertrude Izzard in 1888.Adelaide died in the US with her baby son in childbirth.James remarried and Gertrude was sent back to live with her grandparents in England.
Aaron may have also had a sister named Gertrude. In the Peak District Mines Historical Society List of Coal Mines in Derbyshire in 1896 Aaron is shown as undermanager of Blackwell B No 4 mine in Alfreton.
Most of this information was handed down to me through my family.I have had trouble proving most of it as I do not live in England.Any info would be welcome.
Thanks,
Debbie
