Dear Candy,
Regarding your search for Brian Booth. Do not know if you have been able to locate him as yet, however I had a few ideas that may be of help. I have done extensive research with the Booth surname as well as research that dealt with multiple adoptions. (My grandmother was adopted twice during the turn of the 20th century and I was able to successfully locate HER biological family, even though over a hundred years had passed!). My first suggestion is to check his name in the local phone directory, in or near the county that was his last known address. This sounds so simple and basic, however people are often closer to their places of birth than one would expect. I for example put his name in the google search engine and came up with two possible matches. Also I would register with the national adoption registry. He may in fact be searching for his own family. Most do at some point, if only for medical information. I would also spend some time at the Latter Day Saints genealogical library. These folks are awesome and experienced in genealogy. Nearly every town or city has a LDS library. And for a very small fee they can obtain census data, vital records, wills, etc... They were a wonderful help to me with my search and I cannot thank or praise them enough.
Good luck and let me know if I can be of any further help.
