William Booth/DeHart Booth (Illinois & Indiana)

I received a copy of William Booth's (1783-1854) will. It lists D.H. Booth as his oldest son. Pyne's book Descendants of the Signers lists Hart Booth (aka D Hart or Dehart) as the third son. All the census records and death information for Dehart match with him being born in 1809. Has anyone run into this before and found a satisfactory reason for the discrepancy? Also, does anyone know of any others records that would link Dehart to William? For instance, are there any letters written between Dehart and any of his siblings in an archive?
