Boozers from Lexington County, SC are in my family also. They moved from Lexington County to Conway County, Arkansas. My great-grandfather's niece was Pauline Boozer. My uncle Green Thornton was married to Hattie Boozers.I thought they were white until I was in high school. The other Boozers in Conway County were Hammpton, Evalina, Addie, Hazel Boozer.Hampton was born in Lexington County and was 45 in 1910. They must have come through Tennessee because many of them were married to Tennesseeans. There also was a Henry "Hank" Boozer .Most of my father's side of the family was from Lexington County and many from the Hollow Creek Township. I wonder if this is the same family. The description certainly fits. They were really secretive about ancestry.Green Thornton also could have passed for white. He had a half-brother named James Airhart and another brother named Columbus Frank Thornton, my father's mother's father.
