Borcherding, Oliver, Edward 1847

I'm located in San Francisco. I have original boat records of our family that immigrated here in about 1847. We are related to Borcherdings in Hanover, Germany.
Someone told me that Borcherding means "Beautiful Garden" years ago...my family had a lumber mill in Northern California in the 50s, and formerly my father worked in Louisiana in lumber as a partner...Before that Chicago. I have done geneology at Salt Lake City. We have some relation to Cinncinati. If you have an "Oliver" or Edward in your genelogy, we are probably related.
