Hi!Although I don't have information on your grandfather I do know a little information on Philip P. Borders (my 4th great grandfather - I come down Roberts Borders line (Columbus' brother).Philip was part of the Indiana 11th Calavery. They were part of the Battle of Franklin Tennessee Nov 30th 1964 (side note - i was in Franklin about 2 weeks ago know nothing about Philip learning about the battle only to come home and find out that my 4th great grandfather was in the battle.) Late in the 5 hour battle Philip was wounded in the right breast and captured. He developed tetanus and died on Dec. 12th.He is believed to be buried in the National Cemetery in Nashville although I can not find a grave listing for him with make me believe that he could be one of the 1,400 unknown soliders buried there.Just thought I'd share a little be of what I found on him.Good luck in your search!
