Greetings All!!

I have to remember to periodically visit this forum, no notes are sent out when updates are posted in here, unfortunately. So, please be sure to use our Email addresses and drop a note as well.

I have discovered more info on my GG-Grandfather, Johann Gerh "Garrett" Henrich Borgman, and his wife, Lucy Deaker (Dierker?). They migrated to the United Stated in the Fall of 1837 on Ship Lucilla. So far they are the only ones who we have ship information on thus far. Lou went to Germany this past Fall (1999) and has obtained other information, and we are still gathering more. I have obtained additional information from Father Jim Edmiston, he travels each summer to Ankum, Germany. Garrett and his wife, and the other Borgmans were apparently from Straten, a farm a few miles from Ankum, Kingdom of Hannover, Prussia (now Germany).

To see the information on the Ship manifest for Ship Lucilla, visit my Homesite at: and go in the file drawer with the Passenger, Immigration and Naturalization information. There is a link there to the ISTG at Rootsweb that has the full manifest transcribed online.

And, Happy Hunting to all!!
