My grandfather was Ignacy Borkowski from Rypin, Poland. I'm unsure of parents and/or siblings. He arrived in the USA in 1909 at the age of 29. His wife (Czelawa Prescynsky) arrived 2 years later. Both of them list their contact at 18 Propsect Street in Bayonne, New Jersey. Other names that appear are Boleslaus and Leon although I'm not sure if they were related. Ignacy resided in Pennsylvania. He MAY have been recruited from Poland because of his construction skills. He built houses for the immigrants in the Natrona area. There was a steel mill that was providing work for many immigrants. While they were practicing Roman Catholics, it has been said that Ignacy was actually Jewish. He apparently hid his religion due to the persecution of the times. Are the names a coincidence or is there a possibility of family ties? BTW-other Borkowski's that are listed in the PA area are : Leo, Joseph, John and Frances.
