After the death of his first wife, Bridget, Capt D. left America for approx 3 years. During that time, he was fighting in Cromwell's army. While serving in the war, Capt D. was injured and went to County Cork, Ireland to recuperate. His nurse was none other than Ann Borodell, daughter of John Borodell.

Ahhhh, true love...

There are two websites that have an enormous amount of info on Capt D. and Ann and other movers and shakers of Stonington, Conn. The websites are:

http://pages.cthome.net/touchagray/billc1625.html

http://pages.cthome.net/touchagray/billc1650.html

The first website starts in the year 1625. The second starts in the year 1650. If you are only looking for info about Capt D. and Ann, you'll have to wade through quite a bit of history for other people, however, these sites have info about Capt D, his parents, uncles, brothers, wives, children, children-in-laws, grandchildren, etc.

I'm a direct descendant of most of the people in the Stonington, Conn. area. Capt D's parents are my oldest known ancestors. Are you also an offshoot of these people?

"Talk" to you later...
