I am related to Jose Vasquez Borrego.
During the year 1939 or 1940 the Antonio Bruni family sued Jose Vasquez Borrego et al.
My mother Santa Dovalina Alvarez was served with some legal papers on the land grant the Bruni's were claiming. My father Joe Alvarez hired a lawyer in Laredo,Texas to fight the Bruni's for the title to the 265,000 acre land grant given to Jose Vasquez Borrego in 1765 by the King of Spain for the purpose of establishing townships(Laredo,Texas and Laredo Mexico are in this land grant). My father said that he was threatened with assination and his family also if he did not drop the case. Fearing for the life of his family and him self (as he said) was the reason he dropped the case.I am now researching the arcchives in Laredo Texas to see where the truth is and to see if the claim can be revived if there was criminal wrong doing. If you have any thing that might help this cause let me know
Best Regards,
Adolph D. Alvarez
