Looking for information on a James Botkins will is in the Marion County, Iowa records with a date of 3 July 1848.

1846 History of Marion County, IA by Wright & Young 1925
1846 Territory of Iowa Marion County
"...petit jury, whereupon the following persons, to wit, ....James Botkin....all good and lawful men, appeared and answered to their names as petit jurors of said court."

1847 Marion County, Iowa State census records
James Botkins 5 people
enumerated between John Essex and Moses Long

My ggg grandmother Nancy Ann nee unknown married 1st a Muse, believed to be John, they had three daughters that I am aware of Martha J b. abt 1834 OH, Mary Elizabeth b. 1836 Ohio, and Angelina b. 1837-1840 IL. Nancy was married to unknown Botkins in either Illinois or Iowa territory and I first find her located in 1850 Knoxville,Marion County, Iowa as Nancy Bodkins 42 VA with the above named daughters also listed as Bodkins. 1856 census records have her as Nancy Ann Botkins 53 VA 1 yr widowed and having lived in Iowa Territory 12 yrs.

Nancy Botkins head stone, Greenwood Cemetery, Knoxville, Marion, Iowa has the named spelled Botkins
died 3 Mar 1866 aged 52 yrs and 10 months.

Does anyone have any information on this family? When and where they were married, who James Botkins is and when and where he was born?

I have been searching for more years than I care to think about and I just can't knock this wall down. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for any help or leads.

Sherry
