James, did you ever locate Michael and Mary Bauknight's graves? They have in fact been moved to the "Old Bookman" Church Cemetery off Koon Road. (there was a witness to that move)It is my understanding that the home place was in the field near the road in front of the Jesse and Naomi Bauknight graves but has been moved down Highway 278.I assume you are aware the brick house behind Jesse and Naomi's graves is a Bauknight relative and inherited that plot of land.It is my understanding that the homeplace looks very similar to the Lindler home as it looked in July 2009 when I was there, it has been moved to the area near the new Wal-mart store down the road from Jesse's grave.I was told by a Bauknight relative while in SC that the old Lindler home was a log cabin but has been covered with planks. It is being remodeled for historical purposes. While there in July I took photos of the Lindler house (outside and some that I could manage through windows of the inside) as well as Jesse and Naomi's graves.I also have a photo of Michael and Mary Bauknights' tombstones. If you would care for any of the photos, please email me directly at [email protected] and I will be glad to forward you copies.I would love to have any Bauknight photos you have.
My gg-grandfather is Clarence Drury Bauknight (b 1813 d 1857) and I am searching for his final resting place. He was married to Charlotte Carolina Bickley. He died the year after their youngest daughter was born (my g-grandmother Charlotte Elizabeth Bauknight Milam)a few years after his death Charlotte C. then married David Hiram Dunson and they moved to Clayton County, Georgia.I recently discovered that she is buried in the Williams Chapel Cemetery in an unmarked grave next to him according to the Morrow First United Church records. (I have been to that cemetery many times and never knew she was there). Two of her children are also buried in that cemetery, my g-grandmother Charlotte E. Milam and Joseph Drury Bauknight. David has a very impressive marker and sadly she has none, therefore, I am planning on placing a marker at her grave to advise other family members and the world of her final resting place.
I hope my information helps you in some way; and I look forward to hearing from you.
