Eddie,

I've read some of your messages regarding the Vaughans. Hopefully we can help one another with several or more extended families.

First - You had asked for details from the WILL of Abraham VAUGHAN? -

1. ABRAHAM VAUGHAN - CHARLOTTE COUNTY VA WILL BOOK 2:83, May 8, 1795 - Jan. 5, 1796 (BELL WISE) -

WIFE -
ANN -

SONS -
WILLIAM
FELIX
ADLING
JOHN
LEWIS
DAVID
BAILEY

DAUGHTERS -
MILLY SMITH
SALLY MAHANEY(?)
NANCY CHILDRESS

SIGHNED - ABRAHAM (X) VAUGHAN
WITNESS - E. BOULDEN - WOOD BOULDEN
***********************************************************

Son LEWIS VAUGHAN married November 23, 1801 MARY CHILDRESS (aka Childrey) in Charlotte Co, VA. (Mary said to be the daughter of Benjamin Childress (aka Childrey) -

Daughter NANCY VAUGHAN married November 5, 1792 JEREMIAH CHILDRESS, JR. (son of Jeremiah Childress, SR of Lunenburg and Charlotte Co, VA) -
************************************************************

VAUGHANS in Charlotte County, VA Deed Book 1 and 2 - Bel Wise -

WB 1: 334 - ABRAHAM and ANN (Bouldin) VAUGHAN, 1777 Witnessed Will of THOMAS BOULDIN, Elder, along with James Cunningham, Sarah Collier, Robert Gilliam and Thomas Cox. Among children of Thomas Bouldin was Fransena w/o John Cox of Finneywood, Mecklenburg County, VA. (Taken from Charlotte County VA Genweb, Jo Lee)
************************************************************

Right now, I am working with a fellow Childress researcher to determine various branches of the COX - BOULDIN - CHILDRESS - ESTES and VAUGHAN connections. There were marriages between them all, more than once.

What if any, can you tell me about MILLY (Mildred) ESTES who married FREDERICK COX? Frederick Cox was the son of JOHN COX, the Edler who married most say, MARY COLEMAN. Among their children, JOHN COX born about 1736/7 married FRANCENIA BOULDIN - BARTLEY COX born about 1748c married MARY BOULDI. One of FREDERICK and MILLY ESTES COX's daughters, ARMIN intermarried with THOMAS BOULDIN who left a will in Lunenburg Co, VA. Another daughter named NANCY COX married THOMAS CHILDRESS. MILLY ESTES COX is in the census (1780's) for STOKES CO, NC as MILLY COX. She is surrounded by CHILDRESS, including JOHN and DAVID, among others.

Hopefully, I've not confused you! I am a CHILDRESS by birth and some of my ancestor's brother's married the VAUGHANS, from the ABRAHAM VAUGHAN (who also married a BOULDIN named ANN, above). Two of their children married CHILDRESS from out of Charlotte Co, having been carved from Lunenburg County (VA). The VAUGHANS did have at least five marriages with CHILDRESS.I am also a direct ESTES descendant. At present, I am trying to locate data on MILLY ESTES who married FREDERICK COX - whose daughters married in to the BOULDIN family - or anything which will verify what I've located in my files.

Any questions you have, I'll be glad to help. Feel free to email me at: MJCV25@aol.com Thanks!

MaryJean Childress - Voegtlin
