This is all fascinating because the Alexander P Terry that served in the Civil War with the 2nd Cavalry didn't have a daughter Rose or Rosa. There are two Alexander P Terry's and the one that served in the war was from Guilford and there is another one that was born in 1840 in Virginia, son of Benjamin, that married Elizabeth and moved to Florida. These are two different men. There's another web site that has Alexander born in 1828. One of them probably was but the one born in Virginia was born in 1840 and his wife was born in 1843. Thought I'd clear that up since those of us that are Terry's are getting confused when the difference between two men isn't made clear. I have an aunt Rosa Terry as well and I don't think she's the one mentioned in this post but she does have a father Alexander that served with the 2nd Cavalry and was surrendered by Gen Lee to Gen Grant.
