William (Willie) Joseph Bourg 1918 Lafourche Parish, LA
I'm looking for ancestors of a William (Willie) Joseph Bourg who, according to 1910 Census records, lived in 9th ward Lafourche parish, LA.I believe he died 18 Feb 1918 in Lafourche Parish, according to the Louisiana state death index. He is listed as Willie Joseph Bourg in the index, but as William Bourg on the Census records.I'm not completely sure that's him, because he could have died anywhere from 1911 to 1920, because his wife is listed as widowed in the 1920 Census, still in 9th ward Lafourche parish. There is an 8 year old son, Willie, living in the household in 1920, so unless this was not his child he could not have died before the child was conceived. All the children listed in 1920 was:
Joseph 16
Avi(e) 15
Mildred 12
Lilly 11
Willie 8
The family then in 1930 moved to 4th ward Jefferson parish, which is Marrero, where the Census lists his wife as owning a restaurant. The daughter Lilly is still living in the household, and she married a Fred Marchand.Mildred and Willie are also still living with their mother.A number of Boarders are also listed as living in their household.I have yet to find what has become of Avie, but Joseph is my link to this family, if it in fact is my family.Joseph is listed in 9th Ward New Orleans, married with a son Roy Joseph.I'm almost a hundred percent sure that this Joseph is my great-grandfather, and Roy Joseph is my grandfather. The only real thing I can match to this Joseph to the Joseph in William's family is the age.Considering the way I found William's family, by searching through every Bourg listing in the 1920 census, I did not see another Joseph listed with the correct age.
Another issue, their mother's name I believe is Lucina, but looks like Lavinia on the 1930 census. On the 1910 and 1920 census it looks like Lucina. If anyone would like to look at the images, I can send them to you.
I would appreciate any help anyone can give on my search.Thank you.
