Hello, my mothers maiden name is Boutcher, her father was borne in bermondsey south london in 1908 named charles henry boutcher. The school of the same name was set up apparently by a Henry Bouthcher who was a slave trader / sea merchant in the 19c. My grandfather subscribed to the notion that we came over with William the Bastard (the conqueror). The firm Barrow and Hepburn was once called Barrow Hepburn Gale and Boutcher

Any other info would be greatly appreciated
