Your George Boutcher is the brother of my great great grandfather Jonathan Boutcher (b. 1851). I am not sure who his family parents were but his uncle was a Jonathan Boutcher who founded Arnold's Cove. The Boutchers seem to come from Bordeaux just off Arnold's Cove. In Haystack Relections under Wareham there is a brief mention of the Boutchers of Bordeaux. There may be some reasons to believe that the name is a French corroution of Boucher, left over from the Plaisance days. Hopes this helps a little
Geoff
