Boutcher History

My father was William Boutcher (died 1972 aged 61).
My grandfather was John Boutcher who married first to a Clare we think and had 3 children. Then he married my grandmother Ada Buckland. My great grandfather was John Boutcher and married to Julia Emma Howe. They had at least 3 children(my grandfather, Edward and at least one other).
It is a bit misty before then but I am still following it back.
Apparently so we are told, the Boutchers originated in France (Boucher) and came over with William the Conqueror.
those soldiers who survived were given a piece of land each.Someone in the name of Boutcher was given land in Devon (around Broadclyst-a small village). In the church there are many headstones with the name Boutcher on them.
There are mention of many Boutchers in census etc in the Devon area. It is very difficult to work out exactly who are my descendants, but I am getting there. Hope this is of some help to some.
