Jody,
While recently searching the 1870 Census for Hudson County, New Jersey, I found my orphaned great-grandmother, Nellie Henderson (b. 1857, daughter of James Henderson and Ellen Bowe Henderson). She was living with her brother Andrew Henderson and her aunt and uncle, Thomas Bowe (a mason, born about 1832 in Ireland) and Mrs. Ellen Bowe. Thomas and Ellen Bowe had 3 of their own children living with them: John Edward (b. c.1858), James (b. c.1862), and Ella (b. c. 1864). Could your Bridget be connected to this family, e.g., the sister of Thomas Bowe (my great-great-great-uncle) and Ellen Bowe Henderson (my great-great-grandmother)?
I think my Bowe family is buried in Holy Name in Jersey City as well.
FYI, when she grew up, my great-grandmother left NJ and moved across the Hudson River to NYC, where she married my great-grandfather, Joseph P. Martin.
Regards,
Michael Wynne
