William Henry Bowlin and Elvira Trent, Hancock county Tennessee
Hi,
Hoping someone can help.My uncle (by marriage) is interested in his genealogy. His mother was Cordie Bowlin, born in TN in about 1895.Parents of Cordie Bowlin are supposed to be Elvira Trent and William Henry Bowlin.I find them in the census of Hancock county TN in 1910 only Cordie and her siblings are listed under Elvira Trent with Henry Bowlin as a servant.
Hancock county census 1910
Elvira Trent age 42 (head of household)
Children:
Kitty
Etter
Cordie
Homer
Bonny
Grant
Guy
Edith
Mattie?
William Henry Bowlin, Servant
So they are listed as Trents not Bowlins.I dont understand why.My uncle says he remembers his grandfather, Henry Bowlin.Who ever read this census says William Henry Bowlin is 80? So I am not sure whats going on here.
Cordie Bowlin married John Dudley Woodard and lived in Lee County Virginia and I found them in the Claiborne county census for 1930.They moved back to Lee county cause my uncle was born there and then to Hamblen county TN.Cordie was killed in a car accident in the early 40's.
Can anyone help?Thanks!!!!
