I'm not related to this family but I have a few Ross Co., OH notes that might help.I collected lots of notes from wherever I could and organized them by county in search of my own line.Sorry I don't have sources.
John BOWMAN (1744 Germany - md. Brownsville PA - 1834 Ross OH) md. Sarah Dawson in Brownsville PA? and moved to Ohio around 1790.Had six children:Benjamin, Thomas, Eli, Daniel, Margaret and Mary.
1.Benjamin (17__-1832) md. Sarah Loney (probably in Ross Co) & had Eli, Daniel, Edward, Bradley & William.
3.Eli md. Peggy Powell on 14 April 1825 in Pike Co., OH.
4.Daniel md. Nancy Loney on 25 July 1816 in Pike Co., OH.
1801 - (Chillicothe) John BOWMAN charged with murder of John BETZ.Tried & convicted.
1809 - (Green Twp)Benjamin BOWMAN buys 76.2 acres on 9 March.
1810 - (Franklin Twp)John BOWMAN on tax list.
1812 - John BOWMAN on tax list.
1812 - Pvt. Robert BOWMAN fought in War of 1812 (Capt. Samuel Jones).
1812 - Pvt. John BOWMAN fought in War of 1812 (Capt. Caleb Hoskins).
1812 - Pvt. William BOWMAN fought in War of 1812 (Capt. George Bryan).
1812 - Pvt. Benjamin BOWMAN fought in War of 1812 (Capt. Jacob Hoover).
1812 - Pvt. Daniel BOWMAN fought in War of 1812 (Capt. Jacob Hoover).
