Hi Lisa, I believe the book you are referring to is Franklin Burkhardt's "The Boucher Family," published in 1917 and reprinted in 1977. I have my great-grandfather's copy from 1917.
I believe your grandfather & mine knew each other. They were 3rd cousins, but they both lived in Lima - and my grandfather knew EVERYONE there! The family reunions were sometimes held at my grandparent's farm on Bowsher Road.
Anyway, in my book my grandfather made a note that Ralph worked for Lima Tree Service, and also noted that Ralph's brother Wilson was born in 1914 and died on 11 Nov 1990.
I do have a question for you, though. You say that your great-grandfather Elias Bowsher was married to Mary Dotson. In the book it states that Elias was married to Mary Freisinger. Did he marry twice?
I am especially curious because my grandfather wrote in that Mary Freisinger was my grandmother's great-aunt, so it would seem that my grandparents knew them as well.
