Dear Kelly, I found William's death notice in the 'South Australian. The National Library of Australia has digitalised many newpapers. They can be seen athttp://ndpbeta.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/search?searchTerm=William+Bowyer
If you have any trouble I can copy the item and send it to you.
The pilot site has a William Bower christened 30 the Jan 1791 in Macclesfield. Parents Soloman Bower and Eliza. There are 3 other Williams Boyer/Bower in Cheshire. If you send me your email I could copy the scanned images for you.
Our Joseph Bowyer served his 14 year sentence and was then given a land grant and became a respectable farmer in the Orange district. He applied to marry when he was a convict but wasn't allowed to on the ground that he was already married and had one child. I can find no record of his.
He eventually married on completion of his sentence.
Regards Caimein
