Jonathan Box was born in 1769 in Laurens, SC. He is enumerated on the 1790 census on p. 434. On page 435 are listed Michael Box, John Box, Absalom Box, and Edward Box. They are probably related to him, I would think. I am looking for Jonathan's parents. I can't seem to find any Boxes who list a Jonathan. However, after this Jonathan was born, every generation in his family had a Jonathan.

Jonathan married Elizabeth "Betsey" Bolton, born 1780 in Laurens. Jonathan died after the 1860 census (he was 91 then) and Elizabeth died between the 1850 and 1860 census. They were living in Missouri at the time.

Jonathan's children were:
Jonathan, Jr. b. 1796, married Mary Jane McNiece
William Bolton 1799-1887 in Texas
John b. 1801
Rachel Mahala 1805-1875
Elizabeth b. 1807
Michael 1809-1887
Hardy 1815-1875
Simeon - b. 1821
Maston P. - 1823-1865 (died coming home from the Civil War)
Lucinda - 1824
Wiley - 1825-1861 (died in Civil War)
Nancy b. 1827

Jonathan is listed in the 1800 and 1800 Franklin Co. GA Tax Lists.
In 1820 he was at Captain Abercombie's District in Hall, GA
In 1830 he ws in Carroll Co. GA
In 1840 he was in Dist. 950 in Paulding, GA
In 1850 - He had moved to MO and in Dist 10, Butler Co.
In 1860 - Dist 1, Butler Co. with son, Hardy.

Can anyone help me find my missing link? Who were Jonathan, Sr.'s parents? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Linda Box Longoria
