I am seeking information on any Box who arrived in the Oglethorpe colony and moved to Laurens SC? My grandfather told me his ancestor Box came into Georgia in the Oglethorpe colony. This lore exists in other Texas Boxes.
The only Box I find who came with Oglethorpe is Will Box who arrived in Savannah in December 1733 and died in early 1734. He arrived with a wife, Mary, and two small sons James and Phillip. Mary remarried a Thomas Young
Family histories and yDNA of three brothers, including my ancestor John Morris, link to Robert Box born about 1734. One unproven hypothesis is that Mary was pregnant before Will died and that her child was our Robert Box who somehow ended up in Laurens, SC.
If we cab find a male descendant of Will's sons James or Phillip and convince him to have a yDNA test, we could disprove or accept this hypothesis.
Thanks again. Thad
