Barbra, I have reviewed the Box data to which I have access and here is my best guess as to the families of Robert Box who was born in 1789 in the family of Robert and Jane Goodwin Box of Franklin County, TN.

The 1820 Census Franklin Co. AL has the household of Robert Box as: 1 male over 21; 3 males under 21; 1 female over 21; 3 females under 21; 0 slaves
The three boys seem to be: Joshua, b. 1813; Stephen, b. 1818; and Robert, b. 1820. The three girls seem to be Elizabeth Jane; Molly; and Anna and this is derived by combining genealogy research of Elsie Box, Jane S. Neely and Margaret Kaestner. The mother of these children of Robert Box is unknown.

In the 1830 Census of Hardeman Co. TN, Robert Box and his brothers, John and Goodwin Box are enumerated as neighbors. Robert Box appears in the census as a widower age 40-50 with 5 boys and 4 girls in his household. These boys are probably Joshua, b. 1813; Stephen, b. 1818; Robert, b. 1820; James M., b. 1823 and an unknown son. The girls are probably Eliza Jane; Molly; and Anna and Ruth, b.1821.

In the 1850 Census of Hardeman Co. TN, Robert Box, age 62, and his wife Edna, age 48, have 6 girls in their household: Tamer, age 22, is believed to be the youngest daughter by his first wife; and Sabra. age 18, Caroline, age 14, Narcessa, age 11, Susan, age 9, and Manerva, age 6, are believed to be the daughters of Robert and Edna Box.
