1880 census shows that son of Rebecca Box Jones was mixed race / native Amer?

***Note: John Andrew Jones was the son of Rebecca Box Jones. In the 1880 census they listed him as a mulatto. That would mean a person of mixed race -- either African or American Indian. I have come across cases where it meant native American. That would mean that either Rebecca or William Andrew Jones was of a race other than typical caucasion.

Following is the son of John Andrew Jones in 1880. Notice that there is no race question, which meant obvious differenes had been blended out.

Note: My wife's father Loyd Totty of Star City, Ark., worked with Mr. H. O. Jones for many years in the pulpwood business. Mr. Jones son, Bill Jones, is a very active member of the Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
