I have ancestors from Germany, Carl and Sophie (BEUCK)DOSE. They were married there before they came to the USA back in circa 1870. They were my great great grandparents and lived in San Jose, Calif. I asked a German lady in my college class to pronounce the names for me and Beuck came out as "boyk". I thought maybe someone out there might have different spellings and might be able to connect. I've not been able to really research the many German surnames in my family as of yet. Some are Dose, Beuck, Kaler(Koehler), Bressler(Brepler), Krause. Thank you for your response.
