I know so very little about Burrel b. 1790-1810 S.C. Only what I get from two census records. Abel (b.@ 1825), who I feel sure is his son, is the ancestor of my husband's grandmother. I believe that Abel, Daniel, and Joseph in the 1850 census are the three sons listed in the 1840 census. I do not know of any other family. He seems to have a wife in 1840, but not in 1850. Both Burrel and Daniel disapear after 1850. Did they move on together? Or did Burrel die before 1860. I thought that I had found Daniel in Mississippi. His descendant (found on this forum) told a story about his Daniel (b.15 Nov 1828) leaving Alabama before 1860 that seemed to fit. But now Homer believes his Daniel to be, if I understand correctly, Daniel Franklin Boykin, son of Burwell Boykin and Margaret McCann.
Abel and Joseph stayed in the Covington Co. area and married sisters. Abel m. FRANCIS ELIZABETH (THANEY PHAMA)SPORT and Joseph m. Sarah Ann Sport. I do not know if Thaney Phama is a nickname or what it means?? That is the name the Sport researchers seem to know her by.
I have not done enough research on the different Boykin lines to be able to follow them through their migrations, but I know that there are several known Burrel/Burwell's that were born and died about the same time. None seem to fit my Burrel. Thanks, Anne
