Darlene,

If you are just starting out with you genealogy, start with yourself and work back, i.e. you, your parents, your grandparents and pick up any information that you might be able to glean from your relatives. You should be able to obtain death certificates for your grandparents which should tell you the names of their parents. Hope that this helps you some. Charlotte G. Boykin
