Sterling also had a third wife, Lettie Niel (sp?), who was African American. They had two children, James B. Boykin and ???. James married Mary Ann Runnels in Boykin Springs (Texas) and they had 14 children. Two died as infants (Lora and Nancy Jane) and twelve lived through adulthood. Mary Ella, William Fletcher "Major", Matilda Ann, Alma Boykin Frazier, James Wesley "Cap", Seymon, Henry
"Bill", Jack, West, "Hamp"ton, Amye Velma, and "Doug"las Edward Boykin (all are deceased). The last child, Amye V. Boykin died in August, 1995 at 94 years of age.
My grandfather was Seymon, who married Rosie Lee. Seymon and Grandmother Rosie had 10 kids: Rudolph Valentino Boykin (deceased), Cecil Boykin, Roy Kemp (female), Vera Boykin, Jack Boykin, Jimmy Earl Boykin, Carol Boykin, Frederick Douglas Boykin (deceased), William Boykin, Kent Boykin (who died as a child). Janice Payton is the daughter of Roy, but was raised with Seymon and Rosie Lee’s children, and is considered more a sister to my aunts and uncles than a niece. Frederick (Fred) was my father. He married Gloria Jean McGowan, and I have one sister, Kieunnia Boykin.
Please let me know if you would like to know more.
