I am searching for any info on James "Jim" M. Boykin. My great grandfather is David "Dave" Edward Boykin. His father is James M. Boykin who married Nancy Corley. I have not been able to get past Jim Boykin. My great grandfather Dave Boykin was from Butler, AL. I know his father was Jim Boykin and that he was a constable or police officer in port of Mobile. I have a photo of him in his officer uniform. I also know that he married Nancy Corley although her tombstone is spelled Cauley. She was susposedly a full-blooded Indian and I have a photo of her or perhaps her mother, Mary. Nancy and Jim are not buried together. She is buried in Butler, AL and I have no idea where he is buried. I cannot find out who the father of Jim Boykin was. I think he is somehow connected with Burwell Boykin but I am just not sure how. I know my great grandfather, Dave, had a son (my great uncle) named James Edward Nathan Burge Burwell Boykin. I know, what a name!! I dont know if I spelled Burge right but I've heard it all my life and that is the way it is pronounced. Burwell was always pronounced Burl by my great grandmother, Bulah. He was called Nathan. I feel with him being named after Burwell there must be some kind of connection. When I have tried to look up information is gets very fuzzy and confusing because the name of the senator Frank Boykin's father was James Boykin also and a lot of information Ive found confuses the two. If anyone has any information please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks!
