Pearl BOZARTH hitchhike, hanging, Galena

On May 21, 1937 a man was hung for the murder of a traveling salesman named Pearl BOZARTH. It is my understanding that my g. grandmother was a cousin to Pearl. Does anyone know about this and or have any information on the family? The last public execution in Galena, Missouri. The Sheriff built the gallows and or the fence to keep those under 18 from watching the event. It also saved the city $100. I would like to know who he was, why he was there and hitchiking? Or hitchiking where and what area? What kind of traveling salesman was he and does anyone know why the fellow decided to murder a hitcher? Or did he take the secret with him? How is he related to my Hester Ann BOZARTH ESSARY?
