Virjean,

Thanks for responding to my posting. We have been searching for the parents of Caleb for about 8 years. I agree he is probably the brother of Malinda. He also had a daughter named Malinda. We thought this when we finally found the 1820 Census Record of Caleb in Christian County, KY and the surety for Malinda.

Caleb married Hannah REED in December of 1815 in Williamson County, TN (Franklin, just south of Nashville.) By 1830 they were living with their children in Bedford (Now Marshall Co.) TN. Caleb dies by 1834, and Hannah lived until the 1860s. Last year an elderly cousin directed us to their graves in Caney Springs, Marshall Co., TN. Hannah was the daughter of John and Lavinia Williams Reed. Supposedly she and Caleb were first cousins.

I have an almost complete breakdown of the Caleb REED family. If you give me an address, I'll be happy to mail you one. We also have it online at the familytreemaker site.

I would appreciate any information you can send. I guess we should exchange addresses on a less public site. My e-mail address is Briancreed@aol.com. Please do let me know what you have on the Hargis, Bozarth and Reed families. Be sure and let me know what the reproduction and mailing costs are.

A Jerry Reed also identified Andrew Reed as the father of Caleb and I have not been able to get a response out of him. Robert Neeson said he received information to the same from a lady named Shoemaker, whom he believes is now deceased.

Thanks and I hope to hear from you soon.

Brian
