A recent shake of the family tree reports that William Pierce, originally of North Carolina and his daughter Sarah Pierce (wife of Levi Bozarth "Sr." of DeKalb County, Tennessee), were both full blooded Cherokee Indian. Can anyone confirm or deny this? My wife, Cynthia, is part Cherokee (descended from Chief John Ross) and has some Cherokee registrations and roles. I can't find these Pierces. However, some Cherokees (the ones who bet on the smart money)left before the Trail of Tears. William and daughter Sarah, if they were Cherokee, may have been among them. RSVP. Thanks.
