Dear Darla,

In case you should still get this years later, I have a question about Fallingwater River. We went to TN this summer to see where my ancestors lived. They were actually McDowells (John ca. 1775-1819 and Andrew ca 1799-1850?,) but they were neighbors of Levi Bozarth (ca 1775-1840). In fact, there were 2 marriages between the Bozarths and McDowells later on.

Levi Bozarth lived near Fallingwater River in DeKalb County. Andrew McDole lived near Levi in the 1838/9 tax assessment. Basically, where is the section of Fallingwater River at that Levi Bozarth lived by? (In the 1840 census Levi lived in District 14.) Do you know where that is now on the map?

When I was in TN, we took pictures at Burgess State Park, just to get some pictures of the river because I knew my John McDowell had 30 acres along the river somewhere. We learned that at the Archives in Sparta. However, that part of Fallingwater River is in Putnam County now.

Is the part of Fallingwater River that Levi lived near still in DeKalb County? If I get back to Tennessee again, I want to make sure I get to the right side of the river.
Thanks,
Sharon Joy Laizure
