I am the grandson of James Alexander Bozarth. Our family story is that he, J. A., gave the land somehow that became the state forest. J A Bozarth was a Cumberland Presbyterian minister. He traveled in many places in Missouri and did live in that area earlier in his life. Cannot varify these facts. Some Missouri show this forest, some don't. I used to live in Missouri and talked to forest people once about this land. Sorry cannot be of more help. Would be interested in hearing more information on this state forest in my home state.
