I, too, am descended from Henry Boze and Mary Johns, through their son Peter. According to Peter's death record, Henry was born in Germany and his mother in Ireland. Other records, which you must have, indicate that Henry was from Ohio and Mary from South Carolina. I do know that when my parents were growing up around Geneva, Indiana that being foreign born was looked down on, so maybe they tried to hide it. Then again, when Peter died, he was 80 years old and who knows how well the record keeper may have known him? As for their religion, I'll ask my dad who remembers "Grandma Boze" really well. She was Peter's wife. I believe that they must have been protestant, but never specifically asked. If lucky maybe I can get something out of their grandaughter who is still alive in Berne, Indiana.
