Joe,
Richard "Devil Dick" Boze was killed by confederates pressed into union service as conditions for return of citizenship and pardon. Richard was either hung or beat with a rake until dead (maybe both). My GGGG Grandfather is buried at the Boze Mill in Oregon county and was a friend to the Guerillas. His son, William Lowery Jr was in the party that hunted down Richard Boze and HIS son, John Lowry was hung in the front yard of their Ripley county home by Kansas JayHawkers.
