Hi Don,

I've traced my ancestors back to a Joseph Bradbury born c. 1780 in Pateley Bridge (Foulshaw). The Pateley Bridge church records of his children's christening say he was married to Rosamund Bradbury (born c. 1974) and they had 3 children John (b 1806), William (b 1808) and Betty (b 1810). John moved to Holbeck, Leeds to work in the steel industry and was my Great Great Great Grandfather. My parents still live in Leeds, where my Great Grandfather 'Porky Joe', set up a Pork butchers business - J Bradbury and Sons.

I also found reference somewhere to a Joseph Bradbury a plumber in Pateley Bridge - 'Joe The Plumber'! Maybe he is your relation.

I'd love to trace back my ancestors further, so if we can share info let me know.

I've also had my DNA tested and my haplogroup is R1a, which indicates a possible Norse Viking connection.

Cheers, Peter
