These Bradburys are not my ancestors but as I am engaged in a one-name study of my family name I have taken an interest in many Bradbury lineages in addition to my own. I did find this family on the early census records and it appears Dukinfield was part of Stockport Parish (St. Mary's), Cheshire, in the early part of the 19th century. I could find no record for a baptism of John (1804)but did find a note in the IGI that Jabez died in Wellington, New Zealand in 1894.

If you have Bradbury ancestors you may be interested in a paper entitled "Bradbury History" which I have placed on the Bradbury website at

Best Wishes
John Bradbury
