With my Bradgate family history, there are two branches, mine from southern England, the other from Leicestershire. In my family, there are male relatives with a middle name Woodville. Oral tradition has it, that Lady Jane Grey, (the nine day queen born at Bradgate Park, Leicestershire), is related to the Woodvilles (Elizabeth Woodville married Edward IV, the mother of the murdered "Princes of the Tower") and is directly related to the names Woodville and Bradgate. All queries relating to this name would be of interest to me. I have done extensive research into the name including making a list of Births, Marriages and Deaths from England Bradgates (though it is not complete). My research into the Bradgates goes into the early 1800's, and this includes most of their descendants. Some Bradgate relations from Bristol settled the home counties near London and eventually around the world. Please to contact me for any reason, even obsure dates are okay as this name is relatively rare.
