OK, I know a bit more now. On the site www.findagrave.com I found the grave of John M Bradstreet 1815-1863 with a very nice photo of it! But I would still like to know where he came from, and are there any of his family out there? The site says he's buried in Green-Wood Cemetary, Brooklyn, NY.
He founded his part of the Dunn & Bradstreet company in 1849 in Cincinnati, Ohio. It merged with the Dunn half in 1933.
