Robert W. Brahan was appointed Brigadier General, Brigade No. 30, Texas Militia, on December 25, 1861, and may loosely be called a Confederate General. Info from his son Haywood W. Brahan, 1st Lt., Co F, 4th Texas Infantry Regiment, Hood's Brigade, who mentions his father in his compiled service record for the Confederate army.
